My trip to Salina was fabulous. I took a flight to Palermo on Sicily then took a 4 hour ferry ride to Salina. Salina is one of the Aeolian Islands. The island is gorgeous! Michelle is very happy and has truly found her new life. I think she will soonbea permanent resident of Salina! She fits in very well.
Another one of Michelle's NYC friends was visiting so we spent a lot of time exploring all of the islands together. Her name is Sanda. Sanda and I had a great week trying to understand and speakItalian, meeting the locals, eating the local food and of course trying to understand the language and culture. We still have a few unanswered questions....more to come.
We had a blast together. Besides Michelle, Sanda and I were no doubt the only 2 Americans on all the islands together. Plus....she and I are both blonds so we stood out a little more than normal.
All I can say is....WE LAUGHED A LOT!!!!!!
