My week in London

I've been in London for almost a week now and have been staying with my friend Brian. It's very nice to be in an apartment vs. a hotel. I actually had the chance to feel settled for a little bit and to feel like a real person vs. a tourist in a busy hotel. I haven't done many touristy things because my brain needed a break.

I have been very lucky with the weather. So far, it's been sunny and in the 80s each day. I don't want to jinx my last 2 days, but it really has been awesome weather. I really like London, except I'm still having a hard issues crossing the streets. Cars go fast and cards coming from the other side of the road really freaks me out. It takes me a while to get across. It's obvious I'm a tourist when it comes to getting across the street.

I did take the double decker tour bus one afternoon so I saw the sites. I walked a lot through the touristy areas, ran in the parks, and really just tried to feel like a local for a little while. Brian has been a great host...I met many of his friends....lots of fun.

We went to a Prince concert, went to one of his friend's engagement parties, I watched his baseball games, and we dog sat for his friends. Basher is an English bull dog and we became best friends. He's the sweetest, cutest dog!!!!

I met my friend Sharon for dinner and today I'm meeting Emma (from NYC trapeze) for lunch. She's in London for work. Maybe later I'll go to the zoo and then I'm going to watch Brian's softball game. I wish I was playing but they don't need any girls tonight though...they're all set. Boo. I miss playing. Oh well...I'll go watch. Maybe they'll need someone last minute...I kinda hope so.

I think my favorite 2 things about London are all the parks and the lack of high rise buildings in the residential areas. Great city. It's been a great week!!!!!

Lester! Had our first (and last) playoff game last night at Hecksher. Something like 14 - 2. Sure could have used you!!! Glad you're having a great time. Big hugs, Christa
