Things I Learned Part 5 and Some Random Things...

1. When telling someone in another language that you can eat dinner quickly, be sure to use the verb to eat, otherwise he won't know what you mean. He will think others things...drive quickly, you are quick (fast), etc... Be sure you know the correct verbs.

2. When driving in Italy or Spain, be sure to drive at least 20 miles over the speed limit or expect be passed in 2 seconds! Do not stay in the left lane unless you are flying!

3. Club Med is a big camp and it takes a few days to get used to the Club Med life. See other notes about Club Med in my Club Med section. I had a great time...after I got used to it.

4. Men wear speedos a lot and also teach water aerobics wearing them. It should be against the law.

5. I must stand out as an American because everyone always speaks English to me even before I say one word.

6. 28 degrees C equals 82 degrees F. A little trick. You can figure out the temperature using that as a guideline.

7. On a breakfast buffet....just because eggs are in a bowl next to boiling water does not mean that they are hard boiled eggs...they are really raw eggs waiting to be put into the water to be poached! Yes, I thought they were hard boiled and cracked one on my plate.

8. Even is it's hot outside, always bring a jacket when going on a bus to a tour, the bus is always freezing.

9. Hotels in Italy have very few outlets in the room.

10. To turn on the tv in a hotel room, you have to click the channel button either up or down. The "on" button doesn't do it alone. Strange, but true. It took me a while to figure that one out.

11. CNN repeats the same stories every 10 minutes.

12. Friends have said that I should publish my blog. Very nice to say but I think it would be boring to those that don't know me.

13. I like Club Med skits at night.

14. My friend Denis said that my laugh made him laugh but he also said that my laugh reminded him of Yogi Bear's laugh.

14. An English girl I met doing trapeze in Club Med doesn't understand why Americans travel for vacation outside of the U.S.

Her quote was...."Americans have so many wonderful and exciting places to vacation...like Texas...why come to Sicily?" I swear, those were her exact words. Sicily vs. Texas!!!??? Not sure where I would go, where would you go?
