1. I can bike/ride. It's an awesome sport.
2. Dress in layers no matter what the weather looks like outside. It will change.
3. Always bring rain gear with you.
4. Baggies make great foot warmers. Just make sure the opening is not up so water doesn't go into your shoe. Right Liz? :)
5. Bring lots of food with you...no matter if you think you'll be hungry or not. You will be.
6. Do not ride with your mouth open downhill. Bugs - gross.
7. Always save your last gear (lowest gear) for desperate times. You'll be so happy when you find it.
8. When riding in Tuscany, there is no such things are rolling hills...only HUGE STEEP hills. No flat ground either. Either up or down!
9. Grappa is horrible.
10. Even if you think you feel up to riding again....just wait until you sit on the seat of your bike. That's the true test.

I say keep your mouth OPEN on the downhill...bugs are good protein. :) Mmmm, grasshopper!
Hey Leslie! What an amazing week you've had! I've been following you all over Tuscany on your bike ride - thanks for sharing and giving us all a real flavor of your experiences. Now that you are off to language school tomorrow, can we assume that soon you'll be blogging in Italian?! Be safe.
Ciao!
Linda
Hey, Les! Yeah, biking is a great, meditative sport to work out & maybe even get somewhere! I didn't get your posting on my online updates. I'm still trying to decipher it (I did get it thru my email). Be good, Les; or, don't get caught! xo
