My Florence days...from Tuesday, May 22 - Sunday, May 27

Hi everyone. Today is my last full day in Florence so I'll update you on my adventures here. I loved this city. It has a little bit of everything...city atmosphere, great restaurants and shops, parks and a lot of culture.

I'll try to write this in order of my days and will hopefully figure out how to put pictures to match my days.

I already told you about my bus ride here and my first night so I'll start with my first full day in Florence, Wednesday, May 23.

I woke up and went for a run along the river, over one of the bridges and through a park. Many people were walking dogs. The dogs don't look like the dogs do in America - they look a little different. Sounds strange but it's true. I have not seen one lab or golden retreiver. Whatever....

After my run, my new friend Anthony showed up at my hotel and we started our day of touring. Oh, first....I had breakfast in the hotel and everyone knows how much I love my egg white sandwich...well I don't think I'll be having one of those for 5 months. The eggs didn't really look like eggs. I've learned to eat cereal with sorta cold milk. Anyway, who cares...the coffee is amazing.

So...Anthony and I toured the city. First we climbed the 426 stairs to get to the top of the Duomo dome. That was tiring, a little scary but so awesome. Great views of the city and the Duomo itself. After that, we walked across the Ponte Vecchio to the Piazza Michelangelo. That was a huge hike uphill but again, more awesome views of the city. I think the Piazza Michelangelo might be one of my favorite places in Florence.

After that hike, we just walked and saw all the sights. I'll try to put up some pictures now.

I am so proud of you and at the same time extremely jealous. It sounds like an amazing trip. I've only read 4 blogs and your trip is already shaping up to be the trip of a life time.
Enjoy and keep the blogs coming. It gives me something to look forward to everyday.
I am so happy for you.
