I tried to start my blog the day I was leaving NYC, Thursday, May 17th, but Time Warner cut off my cable in the middle of posting. Oh well. I'll start again.
I'm not really sure where to start or what to write but I'll give it a try. Everyone (especially Joe and Mike) told me to start a blog so here I am. Let's hope I can do this correctly.
I want to first start off by thanking everyone, close friends and family, for your support, encouragement and excitement for me. It just confirmed that my decision to do this adventure was the right decision - no turning back. Who knows what will happen within the next 5 months?!? I'll be sure to keep everyone updated.
The days after May 1, my last day at work, were busy yet so awesome! I thought it would be so easy to get things in order before I left, but wow....I was wrong....there were so many things to do so as a meeting planner, of course I started a "to do" list which I carried with me every where I went.
Even though I had tons to do to get everything ready for my trip (leaving NYC, packing my apt, moving stuff to storage, changing address, etc...) I always found time to play. I made it a point to enjoy everything my last few weeks in NYC.
I had to play one more softball game, take one more trapeze class, rollerblade with Meghan one final time, take my last run in the Park, and just walked about the City. I did it all! I was completely lucky with the weather. Every single day (except one) was absolutely gorgeous, sunny and warm!
I'm going to try to post some pictures but before I try, here are a few last thoughts....I'm not a mushy person so dont' worry...this is not "mush", just things I want to say... (Mike....blah blah blah)
To the Toros...I'm so glad we won our last game at our final at bats. Awesome last game for me. Joe, you're a great coach! RJ - be sure to "turn 2" with Marisa since I won't be there to do it with you. I expect a text after every game! Keep winning!
To my flying friends...keep flying and be sure to update me on new tricks you caught. Think of me (and my laugh) during each class! Be sure that Jason doesn't cry too much without me there. HA! I'm going to try to fly all over Europe! I'll be sure to find rigs all over the place. Maybe I'll come back doing a foward over. Jason...stop laughing!
To my family...Mom, my NJ Mom (Kristin's Mom) and Steph's Mom....I promise will be safe and I won't talk to strangers. Lynnie - can't write anything here - that will be mush. To the rest of the family - I'll see you at Adina and Tony's wedding in November!
To my NYC friends...Thanks for everything. I had a great 7 1/2 years in NYC because of all of you. I'm sorry I won't be there this summer to enjoy NY but just a fyi....Aaron has all of my booze so he can host the parties and brunches now!
To my DC/VA/MD friends...You guys where there when I made the quick decision to move to NYC and now I made a quick decision to travel through Europe. I'll be sure to keep you updated. I still think of you guys as "home"...even though I'll probably never live there again. No Mom...I'm not moving to Fredicksburg, VA - to your "active adult community" when I get back.
